This presentation will cover common types of scams targeting older adults, such as phone scams, online fraud, and impostor scams. We’ll explore how to recognize the warning signs of fraud and scams, as well as the steps to take to prevent such scams. We'll share resources from partners like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the National Elder Fraud Hotline. Join us in learning how to stay safe from financial exploitation.

Kimmy Moon, MPH, is the Deputy Director at the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA), housed at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. With a deep commitment to violence prevention, aging, and urban community health, she directs awareness campaigns, oversees the Center’s webinar and podcast programming, mentors students, and nurtures valuable collaborations with national partners.

In her personal time, she serves as a Korean language-bank volunteer supporting limited-English speaking survivors of relationship violence and sexual assault.
