Arts | Juilliard: Soundscapes of the Romantic Era: German Lieder and Sonatas w/ Sonore Trio

Join the Sonore Trio, all students at the Juilliard School, for a collaborative program featuring Romantic-era songs and sonatas that showcase the expressive interplay of mezzo-soprano, cello, and piano.

Huan-Ching Chou is a third-year piano major at The Juilliard School, where he studies with Mr. Jerome Lowenthal. The 2025 winner of both the Weatherford College and Rubato International Piano Competitions, he has performed at festivals such as Pianofest in the Hamptons, Oxford, and Aspen.

Sally Deng is a third-year undergraduate at The Juilliard School, where she studies cello with Dr. Clara Kim. She began her cello studies at age six and was admitted to the Juilliard Pre-College Division at age 14.

Fangzhen Wang is a fourth-year undergraduate mezzo-soprano at The Juilliard School. She made her debut as Cherubino in Mercadante’s I due Figaro this fall at Juilliard and in opera scenes at Des Moines Metro Opera.
