History | Travelogue & How the World Shapes our Lives w/ Alice G.

This class discusses the impact of current events and cultural trends on our daily lives. Discussions cover a wide range of topics, including current events in schools, the internet and privacy, fashion trends, scientific breakthroughs in Israel, and the impact of China's developments on us. News items are interspersed with travelogues from trips taken around the world.

Formerly a corporate attorney building and financing major pipelines, storage terminals, and power plants, negotiating derivatives documentation, Alice now takes history classes through Northwestern University and Florence Melton, exercises with tai chi, plays mahjong, and indulges in an addictive travel habit.

She has visited and photographed places on all seven continents (yes, including Antarctica). "I gain great joy out of the stimulating discussions with participants in my cultural trends/current events class when people engage!" Alice also avidly follows the Chicago sports teams and thoroughbred horse racing.
